Plein air painters in Essex County are invited to join in Painting the Town of Marblehead during the summer Festival of Arts. For those who pre-register, you will begin the day at 8 am with a courtesy continental breakfast, held in the historic wine cellar of the King Hooper Mansion. This is a popular opportunity to network with other artists. After breakfast, you’ll receive a boxed lunch to take with you as you proceed to your selected location.
Upon completion of your painting, you may return your
framed, ready-to-hang work to the King Hooper Mansion, either before 5 pm that day or between 9 and 10 am the following day.
Awards: Works will be judged, with ribbon and cash awards:
Best of Show: $125
Outstanding Work: $50
You may offer your works for sale, with 20% commission to the Marblehead Festival of Arts, which will be shared with the Marblehead Arts Association, following the Festival weekend.
