The Champagne Reception is a wonderful tradition that kicks off the summer Marblehead Festival of Arts. Held at historic Fort Sewall, refreshments are served under a tent, with tastings provided by many fine restaurants and caterers. Guests sip champagne while enjoying live music from True North and splendid views of Marblehead Harbor. Attending this important fundraiser is an enjoyable way to meet other Festival supporters while sampling the delights of local food establishments.

Our 2024 Band!

Formed in the winter of 2020, True North crafted their unique sound in a North Shore carpet warehouse, where their only audience was the occasional coyote or friendly local cop answering a noise complaint. Born out of local bands Plan B, Take Two, and 5xFast, with deep ties to Marblehead, these seasoned rockers play the best of the 80's and 90's (U2, Pretenders, Smithereens, Foo Fighters, Gin Blossoms, etc.) often with a slightly “edgier” spin.
With fun, high-energy performances, True North gets the crowd up and moving, dancing and singing along to the “next generation” of classic rock you know and love. This band comes out swinging and doesn’t let up. Yeah, it can get a little loud, maybe a little dirty, but you’ll leave with a smile on your face, trying to decide whether you’re exhausted or energized – of course the answer is both!
True North is Jamie Gaull on guitar and vocals, Matt Brenneman on guitar and vocals, Paula Gaull on vocals, harmonica, and percussion, Adrian Bathurst on drums, and Keith Sachs on bass.
