Please join us March 2 at the Boston Yacht Club from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm to find out about volunteer opportunities for the 2025 Festival.
Since the 2024 Marblehead Festival of Arts concluded, multiple long-time volunteers retired after years of incredible work. Since then, we have been working diligently on filling key Chair positions, and have found some wonderful new people to take over for long-time supporters that have retired.
However, we still have a few vacant Chair positions, and we need your help.
Please grab a friend and join our team! Our four-day Festival has been held by an all-volunteer team consisting of families, couples, individuals, and students. It's an incredibly rewarding way to be more connected to your community and to meet new people.
Our no-admission events are all held for the people of the Town of Marblehead and our surrounding communities to enjoy.
You can also volunteer to help out at any of the events going on July 3-6. From sitting at Exhibits, helping out at the Logo Store, helping out at the Children’s Festival, Model Boat Building, Street Festival or Arts on the Avenue. There are many fun ways to get involved, even for a limited time! Make new friends while giving back to your community over Independence Day weekend.
Make New Friends. Make New Memories. Give Back.
If you are interested in one of the following Chair positions, please email Cynda Rohmer at crohmer27@gmail.com.
Marblehead Festival of Arts 2025 Volunteer Event

Where: Boston Yacht Club | 1 Front St, Marblehead
Open Positions
Chair, Children’s Festival
Saturday, July 5 | 10:00 am–1:00 pm
Lee Mansion
Calling all families with young children! Grab another family and have fun putting on this event.
The Children's festival is a Festival classic, a well-attended event that families love. It's a fun-filled morning of arts and craft activities designed especially for children under 10.
The incoming Chair for this event will have a fantastic head start: the previous Chair wrote a step-by-step playbook on how to execute this event. Marblehead High School students will also be volunteering their time to staff this event.
Chair, Street Festival
Friday, July 4 | 11:00 am–3:00 pm
Washington St
You'll be the quarterback of one of the most popular events at the Festival! When you join the team, much of festival planning will be underway, so your role will primarily be all about executing the event.
Your job will be present when the street is shut down by the police, to welcome the performers to the event, and to manage the flow of people. You'll also send volunteers to help manage lines for balloon making, face painting, henna. The entertainers will all be booked (they are repeat performers from previous years), but it will be a good idea to reconfirm their attendance the week before the event.
Chair, Arts on the Avenue
Sunday, July 6 | 11:00 am–2:00 pm
Atlantic Avenue
Young in age or young at heart, all ages are welcomed to Art on The Avenue, located on Atlantic Avenue.
This Festival event allows attendees to paint their own pottery with Hestia Creations, make jewelry with EOS studio, and learn about plants from Marblehead Garden Center. Face painting and other arts booths will also be available up and down Atlantic Avenue. Festival goers will enjoy the arts, shopping, and dining in a favorite Marblehead neighborhood!
This event is very similar to the Street Festival, except that Atlantic Ave will not be shut down.
Literary Festival
Friday, July 4 – Sunday, July 6
Locations TBD
This is an incredible opportunity to build upon a longstanding and time-honored pillars of the Festival. This will be your opportunity to take the MFoA Literary Festival to the next level and can shape its focus.
As Chair, you'll get to find and choose speaking authors and can plan multiple programs, workshops and other engaging events for for book lovers of all ages, aspiring writers and illustrators, and all those with a passion for literature and learning.
You'll also oversee a judged literary contest where adults and students compete in fiction, non-fiction and poetry categories.
